Photographer, teacher, gallery-
owner, Flor Acosta believes that we are visually ignorant, illiterate in our understanding of imagery. “We only look at images but do not contemplate them, nor see them with the depth of our soul.” In the photography courses she teaches Flor shows students how to capture and ‘read’ images.
For the past two years Adriana Hoyos, a Gestalt therapist, has studied with Flor, the result of this exploration is the exhibit Abstracciones en la luz. “Photography captured her inner exploration, through it Adriana found strength in her vision to see beyond the camera,” said Flor. “For that reason the show is called Abstractions in the Light.”
Photography, for Adriana, is the silent language that reflects a profoundly intimate world of emotions. “It is where the ordinary becomes extraordinary.”
The photographs are exceptionally printed on high quality cotton fiber paper with carbon inks. These magnificent impressions, piezography, are original unique pieces.
